Senior Team Go Mad!

Well the teachers finally let us in on what was going on with them!  They have all been acting a little over-excited all day.  After the lunch bell we found out why!  They just couldn't wait to get their crazy costumes on!!

Our teachers - Harmony (Mr Rose), Emily (Mrs Christie), Daisy (Miss Jervis) and Moonbeam (Miss G) all dressed up to introduce our new theme to us - which you all know by now is Boogie Wonderland.  Then Daisy taught us all an old fashioned dance - it's called a Folk Dance.  The one we learnt was 'Heel & Toe Polka' - it was really funny and the photos are funny too (check out the front of this weeks newsletter!)

While Daisy and Harmony worked with the whole team on the Folk Dance, Moonbeam and Emily set up a treasure hunt challenge all around the school.  We broke off into teams and raced around the school finding answers to lots of trivia questions about music and musical instruments.  It was a great way to learn!

Well - that was day one of term 3!  Miss G (I mean Moonbeam) is off home soon - she is feeling a little bit exhausted after all the excitement of the day.  Catch you all tomorrow.

HUBBA BUBBA!

Yipee -  back to school, back to all our friends - oh and back to learning! :-)

Day one started off with each of us being handed a piece of Hubba Bubba!  We had a bubble blowing competition which was won by Laura and we found out some interesting facts about the chewy treat.  It was first made in 1979 - in America and its main sales pitch was 'gum that doesn't stick to your face'.

This afternoon the senior team are doing something together but no-one will tell us what it is!  Sometimes these secret squirrel teachers can be very annoying!

Over and out!

Playing Dress Ups!

Today I had great fun.  I went to Kate Wilds costume shop.  I got something to wear to school on the first day of term! Think bright and fantastic!  I also got a few more props for my classroom including a full sized manequin to dress up in 70's clothes!

I also put my 4 year old nephew on the bus (with his granma) to go home.  His mum rang this morning and suggested a bus ride home!  He was SOOOOOO excited to be on a big bus his grin stretched from ear to ear!

So one more day of holidays left - then a weekend of sport and back to my classroom and the fabulous kids from Room 1.  Can't wait!  See you soon guys!
